The City of Golden is located just 15 miles west of Denver (short, 25-minute drive), but is separated from the rest of the metro area by two gorgeous mesas. It's beautifully positioned at the base of the Rocky Mountains, so for those seeking an escape from the city life without making the trek all the way to the Rocky Mountains, Golden may be the spot for you. With about 402 acres of open space, and 29 miles of bike + pedestrian trails, this is an outdoorsy persons playground. 

Golden is also home to the impressive Colorado School of Mines, delicious restaurants, breweries, shops, and of historical adventures including Buffalo Bills Gravesite (plus stunning views of the Rocky Mountain), Railroad Museum of Colorado and Dinosaur Ridge.
