Congratulations to Cherry Bean Coffee in Sunnyside… celebrating five years in business this Spring! We popped in to chat with family owner, Simon Lagos, recently. Originally from Honduras, Simon brings his love of Central America to the Denver scene with a warm vibe, colorful local art, and smiling baristas. Step into this friendly café for a fresh-pressed panini, or breakfast burrito (warmed on the panini press!). We enjoyed the veggie burrito with a spicy kick, and a turmeric latte. They have a nice menu of wellness drinks.

Hot in Sunnyside

Check out Tejon Street near 41st, if you haven’t been over here lately… it’s now lined with co-working space, Lily’s Baths & Biscuits grooming/pet supply shop, The Wolf’s Tailor award-winning restaurant, Three Cutters salon, Salon Rosalee, Anabliss Internet Marketing, Highlands Health for Life Family Medicine, and more. Two blocks away, you can catch live music at The Monkey Barrel. Of course, Sunnyside also has the 41st/Fox G-Line (commuter rail) RTD station, bridge located at 41st & Inca Street. Just one of the many reasons Sunnyside is one of Denver’s most popular historic neighborhoods. Sunnyside has an active neighborhood association called SUNI (Sunnyside United Neighbors, Inc).

More About Cherry Bean

Courtesy of Cherry Been Coffee

Cherry Bean is committed to providing a unique experience that celebrates the independent character of the local community alongside the diversity of culture, and craftsmanship, of the global community of specialty coffee.

We are a family owned business excited to share our roots from the coffee producing regions of Central America and the Caribbean Islands, while also giving a platform to other outstanding coffees being produced worldwide.

Similar to a cherry bean that needs the right conditions and care from farmers and their co-laborers each step of way in order to reach its full potential, we also strive to maintain that same level of commitment with everyone we serve. The dedicated individuals that cultivated the concept of specialty coffee into an industry that continues to explore its boundaries are passionate about the fruit that they bear. We are privileged to offer a taste of their hard work in each cup.
